The ball rivets that are already attached to the boots have threadlocker glue applied at the time of installation. This makes the ball rivets very secure. However, sometimes one might come undone, or you might want to replace the ball rivets with flat rivets which you can purchase from our store. It is possible to unscrew a ball rivet from a boot, but pliers and some strength are required! When putting new rivets on, adding thread locker is a good idea to help the rivets stay closed. If you don’t use a threadlocker, check the ball rivets before each ride to make sure they are screwed on tightly.
If your horse has a narrow gait and brushes against the ball rivets, we recommend that you swap the inside ball rivets to flat rivets.
